inter-action June - Toronto

Hi Everyone!

Inter-action hits Toronto again on Thursday, June 23 · 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Our next installment of inter-action will be hosted by our friends at Westside Studio.
Location Westside Studio 70 Ward Street Toronto Ontario

We’re looking forward to a mid-summer gathering.

Due to popular demand, We’re excited to bring back futurist Richard Thomas, alongside his friends Mathew Lincez, and Sady Ducros. AKA - We Rep Ideas.

We Rep IxF Interaction Foresight

The structures of communication, where/ware it is found are in constant flux. The nature and types of Interactive ‘beings’ is evolving as all infrastructure and material culture undergoes computational renovation, playing wizard to everyday objects, surfaces, and spaces.

Regulatory bodies, networked labs and home-brew fantasy interfaces are currently negotiating nested patterns of interaction models that render historical and near historical science fiction as science fact, if not science fashion.

Foresight is both descriptive and prescriptive in its role within
interaction, offering new stories about the what, why and how some
interactions may manifest within the constraints of a particular future context. We are not predicting, we are preparing.

We Rep Ideas is a design foresight team located in Toronto Canada. They work at the fuzzy front end of innovation and help organizations imagine themselves within compelling and meaningful future contexts.

We’re looking forward to seeing you!

Details:”As a consequence of pervasive computing <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pervasive_computing> , interaction design is poised to become one of the main liberal arts of the twenty-first century.” Malcolm McCullough <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malcolm_McCullough>

Generally, Richard will be demonstrating that interactivity, “interaction design” is the amalgam of several disciplines, and today well surpasses the digital media space. The skills nurtured in IxD are sought after in all facets of human creation, use mechanics of financial transactions, product design, new forms of social technologies, architecture, City planning, urban computing and beyond. ” Interaction” is swallowing the world whole as hard things begin to adopt soft qualities. Are we prepared?

This talk will centralize around the several emerging forms of interaction, and the role interface and interaction plays in the social construction of reality and the creation of new value within human architectures of desire and motivation.
